Safari Aphrodite Ltd. is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding it.

1. Who We Are

Safari Aphrodite Ltd. is an Egyptian-registered company (No. 48768, Tax No. 352-380-837) operating liveaboard dive safaris from Hurghada Marina, Red Sea, Egypt. We are the data controller for all personal information collected through this website and in connection with our safari bookings.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Booking Information

When you book a safari, we collect:

  • Full name, date of birth, nationality
  • Passport details (number, expiry, copy/scan)
  • Email address and phone number
  • Dive certification details (agency, number, level, logged dives)
  • Dive insurance provider and policy number
  • Medical conditions and dietary requirements relevant to your safety
  • Emergency contact name and phone number
  • Payment information (processed securely; we do not store full card numbers)

2.2 Website Usage

When you visit our website we may collect: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and referral source — via standard web analytics. No personally identifiable information is linked to this data.

2.3 Communications

If you contact us by email, WhatsApp or via our website contact form, we retain those communications.

3. Why We Use Your Data

  • Booking fulfilment: to confirm reservations, issue booking documents, and organise your safari
  • Legal compliance: Egyptian law requires all guests on safari permits to be registered with the coast guard. Passport data is submitted to the Egyptian authorities as required.
  • Safety: dive certification and medical information is used to ensure your safety and the safety of other guests
  • Payments: to process deposits and balances
  • Communications: to respond to enquiries and send booking-related updates
  • Legal obligations: to comply with applicable Egyptian law and tax requirements

4. Sharing Your Data

We share personal data only where necessary:

  • Egyptian Coast Guard & National Parks Authority: passport details are required by law for safari permits
  • Payment processors: payment data is handled by our card processor. We do not store full card details.
  • On-board crew: relevant medical and certification information is shared with our dive guides and captain for safety purposes

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Data Retention

We retain booking records — including passport copies, certification details, and correspondence — for a minimum of 5 years following your safari date. This is required for Egyptian tax, customs, and coast guard compliance. Medical and dietary information is retained for the duration of your booking only, unless you consent to longer retention.

Email correspondence is retained for 3 years. Website analytics data is retained for 13 months then deleted.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data from unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. Documents sent to us by email are stored in a password-protected environment accessible only to authorised staff. Our website uses HTTPS encryption.

No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but take our obligations seriously.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your country of residence, you may have rights to:

  • Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of data we no longer need to retain (subject to our legal obligations)
  • Object to processing of your data for direct marketing

⚠️ Safari Aphrodite Ltd. operates under Egyptian law. If you are an EU/EEA resident, please note that Egypt is not on the EU’s list of countries with adequate data protection. By booking with us and submitting your personal data you acknowledge this and consent to its transfer to Egypt for the purposes described above.

8. Cookies

Our website uses essential cookies required for the site to function, and analytics cookies (anonymous) to understand how visitors use the site. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; this may affect site functionality.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Newsletter & Marketing

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we use your email address to send dive-safari related news and offers. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying to any newsletter with “Unsubscribe” or emailing safari@aphroditeliveaboard.com.

We do not send marketing emails to booking guests without their consent.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page with its date. Material changes will be communicated by email to guests with active bookings.
