Sataya Reef in the southern Red Sea has a resident pod of 50–100 wild spinner dolphins year-round. The lagoon is calm, shallow and clear — perfect for freediving and snorkelling. The encounter here is longer and closer than most dolphin experiences in Egypt because the reef is remote and boat traffic is minimal.
AIDA 1 / SSI LEVEL 1
AIDA / SSI certification available
Certification required
Snorkelling is the backbone of both routes — multiple sessions daily, guided, with full equipment provided. No certification, no experience needed beyond being comfortable swimming.
The guide is in the water with you. Before each session there’s a briefing — move slowly, stay horizontal, let the dolphins choose the distance. Early morning sessions are the most productive: calmer water, calmer dolphins, and the day boats haven’t arrived yet.
