TWO ROUTES

Two Red Sea Snorkelling Safari Routes.

Both routes are built around wild dolphin encounters and shallow snorkelling reefs. The experience on board is identical — only the location and departure port change.
Satayah dolphin house

Sataya Dolphin House

⚓ Departs & returns Port Ghalib

Sataya Reef in the southern Red Sea has a resident pod of 50–100 wild spinner dolphins year-round. The lagoon is calm, shallow and clear — perfect for freediving and snorkelling. The encounter here is longer and closer than most dolphin experiences in Egypt because the reef is remote and boat traffic is minimal.

🐬 Wild spinner dolphins — resident pod, year-round
🪸 Pristine coral — remote southern reefs, minimal boat traffic
🌊 Calm lagoon — ideal for freediving courses and beginners
🏝 Sheltered anchorages — quiet evenings, no noise
2

Sha'ab El Erg

⚓ Departs & returns Hurghada
Sha’ab El Erg is a reef lagoon in the northern Red Sea with a resident spinner dolphin pod. The dolphins rest here in the mornings — being on a liveaboard means you’re anchored in the lagoon before any day boats arrive, giving you the best window of the day with the fewest people in the water. Healthy coral gardens, anemone cities, rays on the sandy flats.
🐬 Spinner dolphins — resident pod, best early morning
🪸 Coral gardens — anemones, clownfish, reef fish
🦅 Blue-spotted rays on sandy patches
🤿 SS Thistlegorm — optional day trip for certified divers (OWD+)
FREEDIVING

Freediving Courses Red Sea — For All Levels.

A freediving course in the Red Sea, Egypt is unlike any pool training. At 28°C with 20+ metre visibility and wild dolphins nearby, the motivation to hold your breath longer is built into the environment. Our on-board AIDA and SSI certified freediving instructor teaches complete beginners through to intermediate level — no prior experience required.
The Red Sea is one of the best environments in the world to learn freediving: warm, calm in sheltered anchorages, excellent visibility, and marine life that gives you a reason to want to stay underwater longer. The connection between breath control, relaxation and depth becomes much more intuitive when the environment is this engaging.
Freediving and yoga reinforce each other directly — the pranayama and breath-hold techniques from yoga translate immediately into the water, and the calm focus of freediving deepens the meditation practice. Many guests find this the most meaningful part of the week.

SNORKELLING

Red Sea Snorkelling — Dolphins, Coral & Turtles.

Snorkelling is the backbone of both routes — multiple sessions daily, guided, with full equipment provided. No certification, no experience needed beyond being comfortable swimming.

Wild Dolphin Encounters

Sataya or Sha’ab El Erg · every morning

The guide is in the water with you. Before each session there’s a briefing — move slowly, stay horizontal, let the dolphins choose the distance. Early morning sessions are the most productive: calmer water, calmer dolphins, and the day boats haven’t arrived yet.

7

Coral Reef Sessions

Daily afternoon sessions at reef sites
Between dolphin sessions the boat moves to coral reef anchorages — shallow, calm, extraordinary marine life. Anemones packed with clownfish, blue-spotted rays on the sandy floor, turtles, reef fish in every colour. The Red Sea at 2–8 metres is as impressive as anything deeper.
8

Sea Turtles

Abu Dabbab seagrass · Port Ghalib route

Abu Dabbab is a bay near Port Ghalib famous for its resident sea turtles — green turtles grazing on the seagrass beds in very shallow water. Snorkelling here is a slow, unhurried encounter at 1–3 metres. One of the most visited sites on the southern route for good reason.
5

Evening & Night Sessions

Calm lagoon anchorages · by arrangement
Where conditions allow, evening snorkelling sessions are available from the boat — reef life is different after dark, and the experience of floating in warm black water with a torch is one guests describe for years. Arranged on request, guided, safe anchorages only.
YOGA & MEDITATION

Yoga on the Red Sea — On Request, Any Style.

Our on-board yoga instructor is available throughout the week for sessions on the sun deck. There is no fixed programme — sessions are arranged by the group according to what suits the day. Three slots available daily, all on request.
All styles welcome — Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, Pranayama, guided meditation. The sun deck accommodates the full group with a 360° view of the Red Sea. Mats provided.
Morning
Sunrise Practice
Sun deck · before breakfast · typically 06:30–07:30. The best light of the day and the calmest sea state. Pranayama and breath-hold work pairs naturally with the morning freediving session that follows.
Midday
Rest & Restore
Shaded deck or saloon · between water sessions · typically 13:00–14:00. Yin or restorative practice — slower, deeper, focused on recovery between sessions in the water.
Evening
Sunset Meditation
Sun deck · as the light drops · typically 18:00–19:00. Guided meditation, breathwork or gentle Hatha. Often the session guests remember most — the sea, the light, the silence.
All sessions on request — no obligation to attend. The instructor adapts to the group’s preferences, level and energy on the day.

Scuba Diving Options — Red Sea Reef & Thistlegorm.

Freediving and snorkelling are the focus — but scuba diving is available for those who want it.

WHO THIS WEEK IS FOR

Freediving & Snorkelling Safari — Who It's For.

COMPLETE BEGINNERS

Never Freedived Before

The course starts from scratch — theory, breathing technique, equalisation, safety. The water in the Red Sea is warm, calm and clear. The instructor has taught people of all ages and fitness levels. You do not need to be a swimmer of any particular standard to begin.

EXPERIENCED FREEDIVERS

Push Your Depth & Time

Already certified at AIDA 2 or above? The Red Sea at Sataya offers open water, excellent visibility and the best possible motivation — wild dolphins. The instructor is available for guided deep sessions, technique refinement and coaching. This is not a beginner-only trip.

YOGIS & MEDITATORS

Deepen the Practice

Pranayama and freediving are the same practice approached from different directions. The breath-hold techniques reinforce what you already know, and the experience of floating at depth in silence produces a state of presence that a studio floor rarely matches.

SNORKELLERS

No Freediving Required

You don’t need to freedive to have the best week of your life here. Dolphins, turtles, coral gardens, rays — all accessible with a mask and fins in shallow warm water. Snorkelling is a full programme on its own. Freediving is an option, never an obligation.
FAMILIES & MIXED GROUPS

Everyone in the Water

Children snorkel with the dolphins. Adults freedive or take the course. Certified divers go deeper on the reef. Everyone eats at the same table in the evening. The boat and the week are flexible enough to make any combination work.

NON-DIVERS & NON-SWIMMERS

The Sea Is Still There for You

Not comfortable in the water at all? Sun deck, yoga sessions, island BBQ, water activities from the boat. Being on a liveaboard without diving or snorkelling is a valid choice — and the week is designed so everyone has something to do at every point of the day.
