Both routes are built around wild dolphin encounters — different pods, different locations, same extraordinary experience. Pick the one that fits your port.

HURGHADA · ALL LEVELS

Sha'ab El Erg — Dolphin Safari

► Hurghada Marriott Marina◄ Returns Hurghada

Sha’ab El Erg is one of the best wild dolphin sites in the northern Red Sea — a lagoon reef that a resident pod of spinner dolphins uses as a resting area year-round. Early morning is the best time: the dolphins are calmer, the water is quieter and other day boats haven’t arrived yet.

The reef itself has excellent coral gardens, anemone cities with clownfish, rays on the sandy flats and reef fish in every colour.

🐬Spinner dolphins — resident pod, year-round, early morning encounters

🪸Coral gardens — healthy reef, anemones, clownfish, reef fish

🦅Blue-spotted rays — on sandy patches

🌊Calm sheltered lagoon — suitable for all swimmers

PORT GHALIB OR HAMATA · ALL LEVELS

Sataya — Dolphin House Safari

► Port Ghalib or Hamata◄ Returns same port

Sataya Reef in the southern Red Sea has one of the largest and most reliably encountered wild dolphin pods in Egypt — sometimes 50 to 100 spinner dolphins at once. The lagoon is calm, clear and shallow enough to snorkel comfortably.

The route also takes in the Fury Shoals — Abu Galawa’s shallow wreck, Sha’ab Claudio’s cave systems, Abu Dabbab’s sea turtles on the seagrass.

🐬Sataya dolphins — 50–100 spinners, year-round, multiple encounters

🐢Sea turtles — at Abu Dabbab on seagrass beds

🪸Fury Shoals — Claudio caves, Abu Galawa wreck, pristine coral

🏝Remote anchorages — sheltered southern bays, minimal boat traffic

WHAT’S ON

More Than Just Snorkelling.

A snorkelling safari on M/Y Aphrodite isn’t a boat ride to a reef and back. The week is yours — there’s as much or as little as you want to do.

🐬

Wild Dolphin Snorkelling

The centrepiece of both routes. Mask, fins and snorkel in the water with a wild resident dolphin pod — no glass bottom between you. The guide briefs the group before entry: move slowly, stay horizontal, let them come to you.

🤿

Scuba Diving (Optional)

Certified divers can dive while snorkellers snorkel — separate guide, same sites. Intro dive available for anyone who wants to try scuba for the first time. Let us know when booking.

🍌

Water Activities

Banana boat, inflatable tube rides, paddleboarding. Organised from the boat for the whole group. Good for days when you’ve had enough water time but aren’t ready to be back on deck.

🔥

Island BBQ

On select anchorages, we set up a grill on the beach. Fresh fish, meat, salads — the full spread, cooked on the island while the sun sets over the Red Sea. Arranged with advance notice.

🧘

Yoga on Board

Morning yoga on the sun deck can be arranged — either with a teacher from your group or with an instructor we organise on request. The upper deck has space for a full group session.

🌅

Sun Deck & Free Time

Read, sleep, swim off the stern, watch the sea go by from the upper deck. Between sessions in the water there’s no schedule. Just the boat, the sea and your group.

A TYPICAL DAY

How the Days Unfold

No fixed programme — the sea and the dolphins set the pace. This is a rough sketch of what most days look like.

06:30

Early Morning — Dolphins

First snorkel session in the lagoon before other boats arrive. Best dolphin encounters of the day. The guide is in the water with the group.

08:30

Breakfast on Board

Back on deck, freshly prepared open buffet. Coffee, fruit, eggs, pastries. Dry off, debrief about what you saw.

10:00

Second Snorkel or Water Activities

Another session in the lagoon, or switch to banana boat and tubes if the wind is up. Divers in the water on the outer reef with their guide.

13:00

Lunch + Sail to Next Anchorage

Hot lunch on board while the boat moves to the afternoon spot. Watch the coastline from the upper deck.

15:30

Afternoon Snorkel — Coral Reef

Coral garden session at the afternoon anchorage. Turtles, rays, reef fish. Calmer session — the morning energy has settled.

17:30

Sunset & Optional Yoga

Sun deck as the light drops. Optional yoga session if arranged. Optional island BBQ if conditions allow.

19:30

Dinner & Evening

Dinner at anchor. After dark — stars, conversation, the sound of the sea. Lights out when you’re ready.

WHO THIS SAFARI IS FOR

Everyone Is Welcome.

NON-DIVERS

You Don't Need to Dive

The snorkelling on this safari is better than the diving on most holidays. Wild dolphins, sea turtles, coral gardens, rays — all in warm, clear water. No certification, no gear, no experience needed beyond being comfortable in the sea.

FAMILIES

All Ages, All Levels

The Red Sea is calm and warm in sheltered anchorages. Children who can swim can snorkel here. The boat is safe, the water activities are fun for all ages. Tell us the ages of children in your group when booking.

MIXED GROUPS

Divers & Non-Divers Together

Certified divers in your group can dive while snorkellers snorkel — same sites, different depths, same guide briefings. The boat accommodates both. A mixed group doesn’t mean one half is bored while the other is in the water.
