5–30m
The best-known wreck dive in the Red Sea — a 125m British army freighter 40km from Sharm El Sheikh, sunk in October 1941 still loaded with tanks, aircraft, armoured vehicles, Jeeps and Bedford trucks. Split in two by a German bomber, easy to penetrate.
5–40m+
The Ras Mohammed marine park — Shark Reef and Yolanda Reef on a 20m plateau falling to 200m+. Soft corals, plentiful fish and, with luck on the early dive, sharks. At Yolanda you can still see the cargo of the Cypriot freighter that ran aground in 1980.
18–28m
An 1876 steam-and-sail vessel that ran aground on Shaab Mahmoud and sank quickly, breaking in two. It lies upside down, stern at 28m and bow at 18m; the propeller and rudder are coral-covered and inside you find thousands of glassfish.
5–27m
Lying in three sections parallel to the reef — the bow at 10m, the amidships a jumble of steel, and the aft with an intact A-frame. Full of glassfish, scorpionfish, wrasse, the occasional napoleon and blue-spotted stingrays. A fun wreck dive for all levels.
5–40m+
The smallest of the four Tiran reefs, with plateau sections and a deep canyon along the southern side. The upper reef is a riot of colour with some of the finest soft-coral growth in the Sinai region.
