The North Classic itinerary takes you on an incredible adventure — a scuba diving safari aboard M/Y Aphrodite into some of the most famous wrecks in the world, such as the SS Thistlegorm, plus the extraordinary marine life of National Park Ras Mohammed and Abu Nuhas.
The North Classic is built around the Red Sea’s most famous wreck — the SS Thistlegorm, a WWII British freighter still loaded with motorcycles, Bedford trucks, tanks and munitions. Add the Dunraven, the four wrecks of Abu Nuhas, and the world-class reefs of Ras Mohammed (Shark & Yolanda), and you have one of the best weeks of wreck-and-reef diving anywhere.
The SS Thistlegorm sank in October 1941 after being hit by a German long-range bomber, splitting in two and coming to rest at around 30m. Today it is widely rated one of the best dives in the world. The Dunraven (1876), lying upside down between 18 and 28m, is full of glassfish and overgrown with coral.
🚢SS Thistlegorm — the world-famous WWII wreck — trucks, motorcycles, tanks and munitions.
🪸Ras Mohammed — Shark & Yolanda reef — a top-ten dive site, soft corals and sharks.
⚓Abu Nuhas — four wrecks including the Giannis D, overgrown with hard and soft coral.
