5–80m+

Big Brother and Little Brother — two isolated promontories 60km from the coast. Walls covered with sponges, anemones and soft coral alcyonarian in astonishing colours. Sharks are common: hammerheads, thresher, grey, silvertip and whitetip. Big Brother holds a lighthouse and the wreck Aida.

Abu Dabbab

5–25m

One of the few places in the world to dive with the rare dugong (sea cow), plus friendly green sea turtles and guitar sharks in the shallows. Superb macro too — ghost pipefish, thorny seahorse and hairy pygmy pipehorse.

Elphinstone Reef

5–80m+

The south plateau and arch is where the oceanic whitetip sharks (Longimanus) live year-round. North plateau gets hammerheads in season. Soft coral walls in purple and red on both sides.
